How The Expectations Of AI Are Unrealistic
People Are Expecting Perfection
Many people mistakenly think that anything produced from the use of artificial intelligence is perfect. Well, I hate to burst your bubble, but in many cases, the results are far from perfect. That doesn't mean that I am saying that there is no use for AI. In fact, AI can be a very useful tool that can save time and effort. Also, proper use of it can yield amazing results.
The Image above is one that was created with the use of AI. Looks pretty good doesn't it? Unfortunately, there are times when you attempt to generate an AI image where it produces unusable images. For example, you type in a description and wait for the image to be generated, only to see a person with three arms or three legs. Obviously, this is not a perfect image and you will have to make another attempt to generate a good image. I assume that the technology will improve over time but it is obviously far from perfect and error free.
As far as AI writers go, they have their flaws as well. Some AI writers don't completely generate original content. Many people have this idea (including myself in the beginning) that AI writers always generate original articles and blogs. The fact is that many really just generate derivative content. That means that they take information from articles and blogs that others have created and scrambles it up a bit in order to pass it off as original content. It is done in the hopes that the scrambled up versions are scrambled enough to to not violate the copyright protections of various works.
So you have two problems here. The first being that you still could be violating copyright protections and the other is the fact that the original creator of that content gets no credit for his or her work. That's not an ideal situation, is it? Another issue with the AI generated blogs and articles is that they are often scrambled in a way that is a bit incoherent or hard to follow. That's obviously not ideal for the reader. So significant editing may be in order, just to make it easier for readers to grasp onto.
AI Is A Tool, Not An Employee
AI is not a total replacement for employees. It may increase the effectiveness of current employees and, in effect, end up leading to the reduction of the number of employees needed in a business or organization. That's because it is a tool and tools often lead to an increase in productive ability or capacity. People have this fear that AI is going to wipe out everybody's job. Not so, but it may decrease the need for some employees. Look at the personal or desktop computer as an example. Use of them in businesses has increased productivity to the extent that less employees are needed to operate the business and less are needed to be hired.
Now, I have mentioned that AI generated blogs and articles have some downsides. However, if used as a tool and not as an employee, talented, capable and and smart employees may use them as research tools for their own articles, blogs or reports. They can take the scrambled up results and piece together good articles. But this will require some writing ability, communication skills and some creativity. Oh, and perhaps a bit of talent. In other words, they will need to be able to effectively edit the AI generated results. So it will be the people with certain talents and abilities, using AI, that will really be taking or keeping the jobs.
Talented People Using AI Are The Real Threat
As stated above, AI generated blogs or articles sometimes come out as scrambled, poor substitutes for quality articles created by talented writers. But people with decent writing abilities and communication skills could Use the AI generated blogs or articles as a research tool for the creation of their blogs. For example, let's say you want to do a blog on the Salem Witch Trials. You generate an AI article. That AI generated article will have the historical information you would normally have to search out. In other words, it will do the research for you.
Now you have the information needed to produce an article. If you have some writing ability or editing skills, you may now put that into the effort. So the bottom line is that you didn't use AI as a substitute for writing or editing abilities, you used it as an enhancement to your abilities. The person who does not have those abilities are just going to rely solely upon what is generated and not add anything of value to it. It will just be AI generated gibberish.
Many Scammers Are Trying To Use AI To Get Money From You
One of the reasons everyone is hearing so much about AI these days is because too many people are trying to make money from you and you see their advertisements that say that AI will be the answer to all of your problems. This is a false assumption, to believe that to be the case. If you have no writing abilities or communication skills and rely solely upon AI writers, you probably aren't' going to make any money. Simply because what you produce will be second rate garbage. They tell you that it will be the answer to all of your problems because they are trying to sell you some product or service.
In Conclusion
So, in conclusion, AI will not be the answer to all of your problems. It will not do everything for you effectively. However, it can be a great tool to use to speed up the creative process. It is the people without various skills, who would rely solely upon AI to create something, that will be left behind. People who are smart, talented and skilled will do very well with it.
